A photograph. Its story.

This photograph has a very beautiful sentimental value for me, is one of the last I took with my Mom; She was a great woman.

When she got sick, with my brother and my Dad we did everything we could have done to make her well, we took her to all kinds of doctors, traditional medicine, alternative medicine, seers, etc ... our desperation to see my Mom sana took us to many places and nobody found anything, a doctor came to imply that my mother invented her illnesses; We suffered with her because we saw her as she suffered, we saw her pain and we didn't know what else to do for her. Until we arrived where a young doctor in a clinical health center and she sent to take many tests, which showed that my mother had a disease called Hypothyroidism, but at the time of discovering it was already too late, the disease had become Cancer By not receiving the hormonal medication that allowed their internal organs to function well, they deteriorated and gradually stopped working.

I feel that if we had discovered this disease in time and the doctors had believed in my mother's discomforts, today she would be with us, enjoying the achievements of her granddaughters, and the pranks of her great grandchildren and the most important thing would be with my Father.

                                    My technological piece, I do not know if favorite.

But if the most used is my cell phone, for me it is a fundamental object, it keeps me connected and close with my daughters, through the cell phone I can know how they are in their daily lives when I am not close of them; He also keeps me in touch with my Dad since I can't see him every day, but I know how he is on the phone; Thanks to this technological object I knew in time that my Dad was very sick and I could get to him in time to take him to a doctor and hospitalize him ... also thanks to the cell phone I was able to inform the family how bad my Dad was and they could go to visit the hospital ... I feel that today having a cell phone is not a luxury but a very effective and necessary means of communication to keep in touch and hear from our families even if we do not visit them periodically. 

                                

                               History of the commune of La Pintana.

The origin of the commune: At first these lands were inhabited by picunche families. At the time of the Colony, they were transferred to the governor of Chile and Viceroy of Peru, Don Ambrosio O'Higgins, as a reward for their loyalty to the Spanish crown.
The origin of her namederives from two popular  versions: one is that, she was a young woman from the Pinto family, named Ana ,to whom her friends said PintAna,the other version is that the family had a white cow whith black spots that stood out from the others.

In 1984 the commune of La Pintana began its functions.
The commune La Pintana is an extensive commune, which has suffered an intense population growth, especially between 1982 and 1992. The population has characteristics of young population. One of the main problems of the commune is poverty, which is expressed in inadequate conditions of infrastructure and equipment, as well as in some health indicators, such as a child malnutrition rate higher than the national average. Drug addiction, alcoholism and teenage pregnancy are perceived by the population as the biggest health problems.

Since I was a child, it was always my attention to be able to help others, especially the little ones, that's why I dreamed" when I grow up I will be a teacher for young children. My dream was to be a Nursely Educator. My attention was also drwn to the work of social workers, I loved their way of helping people, so I loved this profession too, with this profession you can also help children.
At the time of choosing what I wanted to study I was in doubt between Social Work and Nursely  Educator.
But I think I have chosen well,I love what I can achieve as a social worker in the population.

Auto biographies

My name is Rosa Martínez Miranda, I was born in Santiago of Chile, 09 september 1972.

I attended basic education in the college of nuns "Amor de Dios", my high school studies at " CEIA" located in La Pintana.
 I'm currently studying Social Work in Universidad de Chile, what for me is a big dream.

I have two daughters, the oldest is 30 and the youngest is 24,  with great effort they managed to be professionals, my daughters are my biggest pride.

My mother passed away eigth years ago, my father lives only in Melipilla. I live with my daughters father in the commune of La Pintana.

I like to listen to music, preferably romantic, to cook delicious things for my loved ones.

                                         Here I am with my daugthers Soledad and Laura.
